I want the Brand to do the hype...Munir Yakubu on Rabi fragrance

Munir and Shehu Yakubu have been in the fashion industry for long. Known for their unique touch of Africa designs on their pieces, the Sabali designers are EXCLUSIVELY talking about their latest project which is the "Rabi" fragrance and more. Enjoy.

From fashion to fragrance, give us a brief background how the fragrance came about and inspiration behind it.
Is their a story behind Rabi fragrance?
Yes, there is a story behind Rabi fragrance. Basically before it started I was already mixing/testing scents. My grandmother complimented my scent. My friends also complimented. But getting the compliment from my grandmother motivated me more than any compliments. So seeing that my grandmother is behind Rabi fragrance motivation, I thought, why not name it after her daughter who is my mother. That was how the name Rabi came about.

What's the Rabi fragrance scent like?
When I stated talking about Rabi fragrance, I always had this zero hype attached to it. I'm not going to say it scents like heaven. If people want to know what it scents like, purchase it and hype it. I want the brand to do the hyping.

Is it more of English or Arabic scent?
There is a scent for everyone when it comes to Rabi. No one is excluded. There is local scent, there is a scent for everyone in the collection.

What's the Rabi slogan?
The Rabi fragrance is Timeless.

Who do you think are your competitors in the fragrance world?
I believe I am in a competition with Lots of brands. I am in a competition with Tom Ford, Armani, Louis Vuitton, Versace and other popular international brands. In this country, I haven't seen anyone I am in a competition with. I don't think anyone has a perfume line properly structured like mine.

What's the future for Rabi fragrance?
Let's just wait and see where God takes us. But by the grace of God, even in heaven, you will see Rabi fragrance.

You are full of amazing surprises, what should we watch out for again?
To be honest, I just sit down sometimes and just come up with things. I want to create a structure. I want to create an empire. Expect everything from me. I'm not pulling back. I want everything me. Sabali soap, sabali airline. There is no market I don't want to dominate.

A final question..... Are you ever planning to create a perfume called "Fatima"?....... Just kidding. Thank you for taking your time to do this interview. More success.
As the Ghanaian musician Sarkodie said, "You know say money no be problem"
Thank you also.
