Birthday And A Wish!!!

October is over. Ouch! it started with Justin's birthday. My top models, Stainless and Xena, Karl, Rex..........even some prominent celebrities. Forgive me if your name is not here. I am writing right away!!!

Yes! I am writing this with the little energy left in me. I so much want to be under the blanket, carelessly on the bed, asleep. But first thing first. Lemme blast you all about my birthday!

Oh! Yes! Today is my birthday. 31st October and it is Halloween too at some places around the world.

I woke up with beautiful messages. I was all smiley like Miley. I truly felt the love and satisfaction. I almost dreaded the calls. LMAO!!!

Special thank you to my BBM, whatsapp and facebook contacts. Thank you to my contacts. You all made it worth my smiles. Zee and Madam Hawee, thank you so much.

The birthday songs specially sang to me can be better than Ice-prince's mixtape *covers face*

Adanma sang a song and I can't stop laughing.

Mo_gunx sang a soothing birthday song and I almost thought Usher was begging for a reconciliation *clears throat*

Kaltimi sang too and it was a down to earth lovely voice.

Hannan sang with her childish pitch. I like.

So many of you sang and seriously I thought of having a record to sign all of you. LOL!

How dare me forget Harsh Angel. Eva-blazing threatened me. Gosh!

Loudee with her to-do-list for me. I did all and it surely worked out fine because I did not even consider that poo stuff *crazy*

Hassiya and Jibril...what would I do without these two case studies. Hassiya wanted me to cry and said I freak her out all the time. Jibril wished me HBD through out. Family wishes are awkward and homely. Ihsan, Nana and Aliyu, I know what you all would have done. I miss you all. Peesu and Haddy that feel I should be a VS (Victoria Secret) model, Posh has found me and awaiting my reply. I love you.

I feel I should write a special piece on Rock-Star. Hmmmmmm! Enough said on her!

The gathering was so fun. It was a memorable night.

Hajiya, Beebah and Maryam missed it. Hahahahahahahhaah! Girls, I can't imagine the event with you girls.

Nobody can explain the joy in me. I wish I can.

If you have ever had a near death experience, life will be nothing but a phase you go through awaiting the end.

The prayers. I pray that God almighty answer them. Ya'Allah! There is none comparable to you. The prayers were perfectly worth my Amin!

What I wished for? Lord knows!

Breast Self Examination. (BSE).

Although October is coming to an end, I feel I have to apologise for been the last to post on Breast Cancer Awareness. I feel satisfied though because I got some people that wanted help on self examination and I graciously helped out. I feel bad for not posting on my blog. I am sorry to Ihsan because she took her time to draw a Breast Cancer pinky winky, I ended up been late. I am sorry!!!

You must have heard and/or read a lot of stories on cancer. Sad and touching! The struggles and pains. It is death in another package. Death in disguise.

Even though cancer affects the elderly (35-*) than the youths, it is never too late to learn how to go about BSE(Breast Self Examination) and never very late to help in creating awareness for a better tomorrow.

Cancer doesn't lead to death when detected at an early stage. It affects females than males and the most common which is breast cancer.

Below are the guidelines and a do it yourself or rather Breast Self Examination guideline in a snap.

Pain in your breast that isn't related to your
period?

A new lump, bump, or other change in your breast?

A red, hot, or swollen breast
fluid or bloody discharge from your nipple
a lump in your armpit or near your collarbone?

             Breast Self Examination(BSE).

                      Hands on Hips

In the privacy of your bathroom, strip to the waist and stand before a mirror. You will need to see both breasts at the same time. Stand with your hands on your hips and check the appearance of your breasts. Look at size, shape, and contour. Note changes, if any, in the skin color or texture. Look at the nipples and areolas, to see how healthy they look.

               Arms Over Your Head

Still standing in front of the mirror, raise your arms over your head and see if your breasts move in the same way, and note any differences. Look at size, shape, and drape, checking for symmetry. Pay attention to your nipples and areolas, to see if you have any dimples, bumps, or retraction (indentation). Look up toward your armpits and note if there is any swelling where your lymph nodes are (lower armpit area).

                     Stand and Stroke

Raise your left arm overhead, and use your right-hand fingers to apply gentle pressure to the left breast. Stroke from the top to the bottom of the breast, moving across from the inside of the breast all the way into your armpit area. You can also use a circular motion, being sure to cover the entire breast area. Take note of any changes in texture, color, or size. Switch sides and repeat. This is best done in the shower, as wet skin will have the least resistance to the friction of your fingers.

                   Check Your Nipples

Still facing the mirror, lower both arms. With the index and middle fingers of your right hand, gently squeeze the left nipple and pull forward. Does the nipple spring back into place? Does it pull back into the breast? Note whether or not any fluid leaks out. Reverse your hands and check the right nipple in the same way.

                 Recline and Stroke

This is best done in your bedroom, where you can lie down. Place a pillow on the bed so that you can lie with both your head and shoulders on the pillow. Lie down and put your left hand behind your head. Use your right hand to stroke the breast and underarm, as you did in step 4. Take note of any changes in texture, color, or size. Switch sides and repeat.

Mark your calendar to remind yourself to do your BSE regularly. Stay relaxed and breathe normally as you do your BSE. Becoming tense will produce some knots that you may mistake for something worrisome.
Report any changes or unusual pain to your doctor or nurse.

The Youths, 54 years and counting.

I am filled with so much joy that my mother "Nigeria" is alive. She isn't dead. She has gone through wars, conflicts, sorrow, happiness, joy, laughter and Woos. She is black and still beautiful. She is proud but not healthy. She is sick. The giant of Africa is sick!

Looking at my 54 year old mother, who has gone through a lot. Lost lots of children. Filled with memories, good and bad. She smiles sometimes and frown other times. It is incredible how times, good, bad and ugly hasn't broken her down. What surprises me most is how strong she is. She isn't helpless. She only needs support.

She needs support from the vast vital population of the economy. She needs support from the energetic and passionate people in the country. The youths.

The youths are neglected in Nigeria of today. They aren't considered citizens yet neither are they considered in plans to make the country better. Instead, they are used as weapons of negativity. The youths aren't encouraged, inspired, empowered positively enough. The negligence makes you wonder if our leaders passed the youthful stage or escaped it.

The core foundation of the youths, Education, is infected with a virus. Eating slowly and killing gently. The educational system is in shambles. How the strike is still taking place like an annual event is no longer surprising. The sector is not payed attention to with no surprise that it is one of the worst sector in the country. It is neglected which makes you think if our past leaders ever went through this system.

Yet, the youths are expected to meet up with expectations. With little/no attention we are given, much is expected from us.

Unemployment is drastically high. Even after the nightmare of the tertiary institution, the youths wander from distance to distance. Desperation and desires creeping like a disease. The most difficult stage of our lives, with our needs. The stage we are eager and filled with desire to achieve greatness. The youths get enticed with various weapons of destruction. An idle mind is a devils workshop.

When we complain of jobs, we are told to be entrepreneurs. How can we be entrepreneurs without capital/financial help from government? Banks loans aren't youths loans. How can we be entrepreneurs with insecurity? How can we be entrepreneurs with the high rise of corruption?

How?

Our leaders should remember they went through this stage called "Youth". If only they can be sincere and just, they will know that the youths of the giant of Africa are willing and able to bring positive change. The leaders of tomorrow are losing patience.
When they completely lose it, curbing it will be a case study. The best thing a country can do for it youths is educate and employ them.

We, the youths do not want to be manipulated. We are tired of been blamed of the unrest in the country. We are tired of injustice, corruption, segregation and unrest. We want Unity and Faith, Peace and Progress.

Together forever we will conquer because we can. Let the youths join hands and make Nigeria, our mother better.
